The Southport Island Association would like to announce that it will hold both its Annual Meeting and Bolster Day on Sunday, June 29 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Newagen Seaside Inn.   

An annual tradition for decades, Bolster Day is a summer kick-off cocktail party named for a historical Southport figure - Judge Charles Stephen Bolster. As an early member of SIA and an influential jurist who served on the Superior Court of Massachusetts, Judge Bolster was known for throwing exuberant summer gatherings on Southport.As such, Bolster Day continues to offer that lively spirit of bringing together both year-round and summer residents to reunite friends who have stood the test of time, and to facilitate new friendships too! There will be a cash bar, and attendees are asked to bring an appetizer toshare at the meeting. Guests are welcome too. 

Additionally, for the annual meeting, SIA members are urged to attend to be introduced to the board, hear about SIA’s year in review as well as ambitions for the future. A vote will be taken at the meeting to approve minor changes to the SIA bylaws that were proposed by the Bylaws Committee, consisting of Janet Duchaine, John Nunan and Sharma Schacknow.
