First National Bank recently announced a $1,000 contribution to American Legion Post 36 toward community banners honoring veterans in the Boothbay region. The bank’s contribution will help to replace missing brackets, as well as add and repair banners.
The Veterans banner program committee began in the summer of 2023 and by November, 73 banners were produced and displayed on telephone poles throughout Boothbay. Now, between 615 to 650 banners are expected to be displayed in 2025 with 15 more banner requests currently pending.
“We’re disheartened to hear of the loss of the 50+ banner brackets from the Veterans banner program. We remain committed to supporting American Legion Post 36’s amazing Banner Project and we hope that our community will come together to help support in honoring those who have served our country,” shared First National Bank’s Alyssa Allen.
